There's good news for us here in the South Pacific. Recent study show that both literacy and numeracy skills among primary school students across the Pacific have improved. In Fiji, we carry out standardised tests specifically to measure numeracy skills at certain year levels similar to the NAPLAN tests conducted in Victoria, Australia.
But what exactly is numeracy and how is it connected to mathematics?
